Chemical Peeling

Chemical peeling is a dermatological procedure, designed to improve the texture, tone, and appearance of the skin, by applying a chemical solution to the surface. This treatment is used to address various skin concerns, including acne scars, sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, and rough skin texture.

The chemical solution works by removing the outermost layer of damaged skin cells, prompting the skin to regenerate and reveal a smoother, more youthful complexion. The depth of the peel can vary, with superficial peels targeting the outermost layer (epidermis), medium peels penetrating deeper into the dermis, and deep peels reaching even further.

During a chemical peel, a licensed skincare professional carefully applies a solution containing acids, such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or trichloroacetic acid (TCA), to the skin. The choice of acid and its concentration is determined based on the specific skin issues being targeted and the individual’s skin type.
